First Steps
This guide walks you through everything that happens after you sign up for GamePulse, from setting up your profile to creating your first team and sending invites.
Signing Up
GamePulse uses Google Sign-In for authentication. Tap the sign-in button, choose your Google account, and you’re in. There are no passwords to remember — your Google account is your GamePulse identity.
Profile Setup
After signing in for the first time, you’ll be prompted to set up your profile:
- Display name — The name other members will see throughout GamePulse.
- Profile photo — Upload a photo or use your Google account picture.
Three Paths Forward
Once your profile is set up, you have three main paths depending on your role:
- Create a new club — If you are starting fresh as a club administrator, create a new club and set everything up from scratch. See the Creating a Club guide for details.
- Join an existing club via invite — If someone has already set up a club in GamePulse, they can send you an invite link or QR code. Click the link or scan the code to join instantly. See the Joining via Invite guide.
- Set up player tracking — If you want to track games for a player, the player owner can grant you follower access without needing full club admin access.
Finding Your Club via the District Picker
If you are creating a new club, the district picker wizard is the recommended approach. It walks you through a structured selection process:
- State — Select your state or region.
- Association — Choose your sporting association.
- League — Pick the league your club competes in.
- Club — Find your club from the league’s registered club list.
- Team — Select or create the specific team within your club.
This flow automatically links your club to the league, enabling fixture auto-import and ladder standings right away.
Configuring Your Club
After creating your club, take a few minutes to configure the essentials:
- Stats — Define the statistics you want to track during games (e.g., goals, behinds, disposals, tackles). Configure score stats, required stats, ground location stats, and calculated stats from the team Settings tab.
- Periods — Set the number and names of game periods (e.g., Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 for AFL or 1st Half, 2nd Half for soccer).
- Scoring rules — Define how score stats translate to the scoreboard (e.g., a goal is worth 6 points, a behind is worth 1 point).
Creating Your First Team
Every club needs at least one team. From the club dashboard, click the + button at the right end of the team pill row to create a new team. You’ll provide a team name, age group, and season. See the Creating a Team guide for the full walkthrough.
Sending Your First Invites
Once your club and team are ready, invite your members:
- Click “Invite User” in the club header.
- Choose the role to assign (Club Admin, Team Admin, User, or Tracker).
- Select which teams the member should join (all teams or specific teams).
- Share the invite link or QR code with the person you are inviting.
When the recipient opens the link and signs in, they are automatically added to the club and selected teams with the chosen role.
Tip: You can always change settings later from Team Settings. Nothing is locked in — stat definitions, periods, scoring rules, and member roles can all be updated at any time without affecting previously tracked games.
