Stats & KPIs

GamePulse supports four types of stats that you can configure for each team. Stats appear as track buttons during games and are displayed on the analysis dashboard.

Stat definitions are configured per team. To add or edit stats for a team, go to the team Settings tab (accessible via the Settings option in the team navigation tabs) and open the Stat Definitions section.

Score Stats

Stats that contribute to the game score. Each score stat has scoring rules that define how many points it is worth. For example, in AFL: a Goal is worth 6 points and a Behind is worth 1 point. Score stats are automatically summed to display the game score. Multiple stats can be marked as score stats, and each can have a different point value.

Required Stats

Stats marked as required will always appear in the tracker during games, even if the user has not explicitly added them. Use required stats for metrics that should always be tracked (e.g., Disposals, Tackles). Required stats appear prominently in the tracker interface.

Ground Location Stats

Stats marked for ground location tracking will prompt the user to tap a location on the field map when recorded. This enables heat map visualisation on the dashboard, showing where on the ground each stat occurred. Useful for tracking where goals, turnovers, or other key events happen on the field.

When tracking a ground location stat, a field overlay appears and you tap the location before the stat is recorded.

Calculated Stats

Stats that are automatically computed from other stats rather than being tracked manually. A calculated stat defines a formula based on other stats (its “constituents”). For example: Disposals = Kicks + Handballs.

Calculated stats update in real time as their constituent stats are tracked. They appear on the dashboard but do not have a track button — they cannot be manually recorded.

Tip: When creating a new team via the team wizard, you can copy stat definitions from another existing team to get started quickly.
